The men and women of the Springfield Township Fire Department are dedicated to providing fire and EMS services to 25 thousand residents of Springfield Township and the Village of Holland which encompasses an area of of 22 square miles.  Springfield Township is located in northwest part of Lucas County and is bordered by Sylvania Township (north), Toledo (east), Maumee (southeast), Monclova Township (south) and Spencer Township (west).  Springfield Township is the third most populous part of Lucas County behind the City of Toledo and Sylvania Township.

Founded in 1950, The Springfield Township is a full service fire protection and emergency medical agency that utilizes highly trained personnel to provide universal fire and rescue service with prevention and suppression of fires, the mitigation of medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, public education and training and all disasters.  These services are provided from a network of 3 stations located in the township with 41 career and 38 part time firefighters and EMTs.  Calls for emergency services with advanced life support are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
